Convert PDF to Word

Convert a PDF into a Word document you can edit.

Files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

Paragraphs, headings, tables and most pictures are carried into a .docx file. Lists arrive as plain paragraphs, and bold or italic is kept where it covers a whole paragraph. It does not reproduce every detail of the original layout, and it tells you what it left out.

How to convert PDF to Word

  1. Choose the PDF to convert.
  2. In the dialog that opens, select Word document (.docx).
  3. Read the list of anything that was not carried over.
  4. Select Download Word file.

What you get

  • Editable text, not pictures

Paragraphs come out as real text with headings, bold, italic, colour and alignment, so you can keep writing.

  • Tables and images

Detected tables become Word tables and most pictures are placed where they appeared.

  • Stays on your device

The file is converted in your browser. It is not uploaded, and it works without a connection once the app has been opened.

  • Honest about limits

Multi-column pages, text boxes and exact positions are simplified, and the result lists what was dropped.

PDF to Word: questions and answers

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

No. It keeps the content and basic formatting so that you can edit it; exact page layout, columns and decorative elements are not reproduced.

Can it convert a scanned PDF?

Run the text recognition tool first so the pages have text; without it a scan has only pictures to carry over.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs on your device.
